Abstract:There is a phenomenon of information sharing by all people, especially digital natives. The phenomenon of information sharing studied is on social media such whatsapp, instagram and line. Information sharing activities seem to be easily carried out by individuals independently even without the request of anyone, especially on social media equipped with various features to easily share information. In fact, sharing information can have a good positive impact such as increasing knowledge but there are also negative sides such as creating information hoax. So from that this study wants to know the description, starting from perceptions and motivations regarding information sharing activities carried out by digital natives on social media, especially among UGM students. This study uses a quantitative method supported by the reasons of respondents in each statement that is also written in the research questionnaire, while the test conducted is path analysis. The population and sample of this study are graduate and undergraduate students of UGM. The results of this study found that the perception of information sharing that was the highest agreed upon by students was the need to understand the contents of the information before sharing. Whereas the findings of motivation in information sharing that were highest approved by students were sharing information because they were concerned about the their social media environment. Digital natives information sharing activities especially for students, are done 1-2 times a day, the type of information that is often shared is personal and casual information.

Intisari:Terjadi fenomena berbagi informasi oleh semua kalangan masyarakat, khususnya digital natives. Fenomena berbagi informasi yang diteliti adalah pada media sosial whatsapp, instagram dan line. Aktifitas berbagi informasi tampak mudah dilakukan oleh individu secara mandiri walapun tanpa adanya permintaan dari siapapun, apalagi di media sosial yang dilengkapi berbagai fitur untuk berbagi dengan mudah. Bahkan, berbagi informasi dapat memberikan dampak baik positif seperti menambah pengetahuan namun juga ada sisi negatif seperti menciptakan informasi hoax. Maka dari itu penelitian ini ingin mengetahui gambaran yaitu mulai dari persepsi dan motivasi mengenai aktifitas berbagi informasi yang dilakukan digital natives di media sosial khususnya pada kalangan mahasiswa UGM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan didukung oleh alasan responden pada masing-masing pernyataan yang juga dituliskan di dalam kuesioner penelitian, sedangkan uji yang dilakukan adalah analisis jalur. Populasi dan sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pascasarjana dan sarjana UGM. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa perpsepsi mengenai berbagi informasi yang paling teratas disetujui oleh mahasiswa adalah perlunya memahami isi inormasi sebelum dibagikan. Sedangkan temuan motivasi dalam berbagi informasi yang paling teratas disetujui mahasiswa adalah berbagi informasi karena peduli terhadap lingkungan media sosialnya. Aktifitas berbagi informasi digital natives khususnya mahasiswa dalam sehari dilakukan sebanyak 1-2 kali, jenis informasi yang sering dibagikan adalah informasi personal dan kasual.===There is a phenomenon of information sharing by all people, especially digital natives.
